Responsibility deal between the UK, Scottish and Welsh Governments and the direct marketing sector

Poorly targeted advertising mail is irritating to householders, is a waste of businesses’ money and is environmentally unsustainable.

This deal will help to simplify how householders manage what they receive in the post, and outlines a range of other initiatives which aim to improve the environmental performance of the direct marketing industry and in particular support a move towards a ‘zero waste economy’ and ‘low carbon economy’.
