UK Native Breeds At Risk (NBAR)

This list of UK Native Breeds at Risk was confirmed with advice from the FAnGR Committee, who identified the breeds that meet the criteria for native breeds at risk thresholds for agri-environment schemes contained in the EU’s rural development regulations. This list has been accepted by the EU Commission and appropriate modifications have been implemented into the Rural Development Programme for England; giving the list proper effect.

Exotic Global Breeds at Risk (EGBAR)

The following list has been compiled by the FAnGR Committee and is published here for comments, particularly if any omissions are apparent.  Any comments on this list should be sent to the FAnGR Secretariat at fangr@defra.gsi.gov.uk.  The Committee’s view is that exotic breeds globally at risk should relate to overall global status of a breed, regardless of status in a particular country.  It is proposed that “at risk” status be defined by FAO criteria.
