Summary

The consultation into the draft Hazardous Waste National Policy Statement ended on 20 October 2011. As part of the consultation a commitment was made to place a summary of all responses on the Defra website. Careful consideration of the consultation responses, and the report produced by the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee, is currently underway. We will update the website when publication dates for the summary of responses, and response to the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee are available

As part of the Parliamentary scrutiny procedure for NPSs, the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee has announced an inquiry into the draft NPS. Further information about the Committee’s inquiry, including details of the process for submitting evidence, can be found on the Committee’s website at www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/environment-food-and-rural-affairs-committee Please note that the deadline for the submission of written evidence to the Committee is Friday 26 August 2011.
