Policy statements

wildlife legislation in England please access the

Under section 78 of
the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006 Defra authorises Natural
England to perform certain Defra functions such as determining and granting
certain licences under wildlife legislation. Defra retains the policy under
which these functions are performed.
Defra's policy is contained in a
succession of documents. The overarching policy and below there are a series of documents each dealing with a different aspect
of wildlife management policy. These documents can be accessed by clicking on
