Policy statements
For advice and guidance on how to apply for licences under
wildlife legislation in England please access the
Natural England website.
Under section 78 of
the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006 Defra authorises Natural
England to perform certain Defra functions such as determining and granting
certain licences under wildlife legislation. Defra retains the policy under
which these functions are performed.
Defra's policy is contained in a
