Biosphere Conference Report In June 2004 Ecodyfi organised a conference to explore community involvement in land management and sustainable development. The conference helped build links between different sectors of the community as well as with other European biosphere reserves, and gave fresh momentum to the BR review process at Dyfi. November 2002: Braunton Burrows in North Devon becomes the UK's first Biosphere Reserve to meet the Seville criteria. Read a local perspective about what the new designation means for the area here. A workshop about Biosphere Reserves in the UK was held at Braunton Burrows Biosphere Reserve on 14-15 November 2002. The theme of the workshop was Developing Sustainable Economies.
