QUARRY:
a program to assess the effectiveness of shotgun ammunition
against wildfowl and other quarry

Viewing the Table of Results

From the Main Menu it is possible to view the predicted performance results in tabular form, press T. The tabular data is generally not as clear as the graphic results, though its listing of velocities and times-of-flight is occasionally of use

The highlighted letters on the lower border show which keys to press to scroll through the data. The Esc (escape) key returns control to the Current Data and Main Menu screen.

Creating New Datafiles using the Output Menu

Through the worked example you have used the I (Input) key to select the data for alternative Quarry, Load, Accuracy and Policy. The O (Output) key enables you to save the current Load, Accuracy or Policy to datafiles which you can re-load later. (It is not possible to generate new Quarry datafiles from within the program.) Suppose you wish to save the current load-36 grams of No.4 size steel shot at 430m/s.

At the Main Menu press O (Output) to get

and then press L (Load).

If you were to change your mind about saving this information, you could escape back to the to Main Menu by simply pressing the enter tag(enter) key now. Assuming you really do want to save the information, type in an unique filename (up to 8 letters, no spaces) for the computer to use, and then press the enter tag(enter) key. Then type in the description for you to use and press enter tag(enter) again. Finally, you could add a comment to the data if you wish. The screen might then look like this:

Finally, press the enter tag(enter) key to finish. The next time you start the program or use the I (Input) and then L (Load) keys to select an alternative load, you will find your new ammunition in the list.

The saving of datafiles can be done similarly for the Accuracy and Policy.
