QUARRY:
a program to assess the effectiveness of shotgun ammunition
against wildfowl and other quarry


SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

DOS environment:

Any Personal Computer type 80*86 with maths coprocessor, 640K RAM and Colour VGA capability: e.g. most 486 and Pentium PCs.

Windows 3.1, -3.11, -95 and -NT environments:

The program runs in a DOS window. The graphics will automatically invoke full screen mode where required.

GETTING STARTED

Installing and Running the Program

The executable file and the associated datafiles are available for download as a .zip file (quarry.zip - 92kb). The files will have to be extracted before running the program.

The executable file (QUARRY.EXE) can be run from a user defined directory/folder on hard disk (e.g. C:\QUARRY) or it can be run from a disk (obtained from DETR : Species Conservation Branch, Room 902, Tollgate House, Houlton Street, Bristol BS2 9DJ; tel: 0117 987 6236).

DOS environment

To run from a supplied disk type:
A:enter tag
QUARRYenter tag

or to run from a hard drive directory (e.g. C:\QUARRY), type

CD QUARRYenter tag
QUARRYenter tag

Windows environment

To run from a supplied disk:
From the FILE or START menus, click RUN, then type A:QUARRY

or to run from a hard drive directory/folder (e.g. C:\QUARRY):
From the FILE or START menus, click RUN and type C:\QUARRY\QUARRYenter tag

or from File Manager or Explorer:
click the disk & directory/folder containing QUARRY.EXE
then run/open or simply double-click the file QUARRY.EXE.

The program will then run under Windows in a DOS window: the graphics will automatically invoke full screen mode as required.

The Welcome Screen will first appear:

The program has colour displays, but some of the samples shown here are printed in monochrome. Now proceed to the next section, 'Using the Program' and follow the worked example.
