National Park Authorities: Performance

In 2005, all the English National Park Authorities and the Broads Authority (with the exception of the New Forest) each went through a tailor-made peer-review performance assessment. The assessment was developed as a voluntary means for them to gain a better appreciation of their strengths and weaknesses and to implement a recommendation of the Authorities. It incorporated aspects of the Comprehensive Performance Assessment used for District and County Councils that applied to the Authorities.

The Authorities produced improvement plans stating how they will implement the recommendations. Further information can be obtained from the individual Authorities’ websites. All the Authorities have benefited from implementation of their improvement plans.
