Nature conservation guidance on offshore windfarm developments

Defra supports the policy of exploiting the UK's major potential for offshore wind energy generation and, in co-operation with the statutory nature conservation agencies, has been developing guidance for developers undertaking offshore windfarm developments.

The guidance was issued in draft form on 23 March 2005 to the industry through its co-ordinating body the BWEA and to other interested parties. Comments on the draft have been invited by 17 June 2005.
