Biodiversity Policy Unit
The Biodiversity Policy Unit promotes the integration of biodiversity into policies and programmes within national and local government and beyond. It provides the secretariat for the England Biodiversity Group which has a key role in implementing the UK Biodiversity Action Plan (UKBAP) in England especially through implementation of Working with the grain of nature: a biodiversity strategy for England.It provides the secretariat for the UK Biodiversity Partnership and edits and publishes a quarterly newsletter for biodiversity partnerships throughout the UK. It is also the UK focal point for the Pan-European Biodiversity and Landscape Diversity Strategy (PEBLDS), the Bern Convention and the EU Biodiversity Strategy. It provides the secretariat for the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere UK national committee
