VLA's structure
We are made up of 16 veterinary laboratories which includes:
- a central facility near Weybridge in Surrey.
- laboratory facility at Pentlands Park in Scotland.
- two regional laboratories in Wales, Aberystwyth and Carmarthen.
- a network of 12 laboratories across England.
There are also two surveillance centres provided under contract by the Liverpool and London veterinary schools.
We are organised into three divisions:
The organogram (pdf 174kb) shows how these divisions are structured. The science within these divisions is delivered via science programmes.
The Directorate is responsible for the overall management of VLA.
