VLA Lasswade

The pathology unit at Lasswade provides a diagnostic and consultancy service in avian and mammalian pathology for Defra, VLA's regional laboratories and UK (specialist) poultry veterinarians.

The emphasis is on histology and immunohistochemistry with associated necropsy expertise (avian).

The laboratory also carries out a wide range of serological, bacteriological and virological tests in support of international trade certification and various statutory orders.

VLA Luddington

The catchment area for VLA Luddington extends across the counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, parts of Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire

The area covers a wide range of farming practices, from beef cattle in Herefordshire through to sheep in the Welsh borders and the Cotswolds.

The Laboratory offers a full range of diagnostic services in farmed animals to private veterinary practitioners in its area.

The examination of feedstuffs is a specialism of this Laboratory.
