By road
South from Machynlleth - A487
- Outskirts Aberystwyth - cross roads with island in middle of road
- Down steep hill (Penglais), under pedestrian bridge · Past the University campus and Bronglais hospital on your left
- At the bottom of Penglais hill there is a staggered crossroads turn left on to the A44 going to Llangurig just before the coopers pub
- After 200 - 300 yards smaller crossroad with the left hand turn
- (Caradog road) going to the hospital take the right hand turn going up a steep hill (signed Buarth road).
- We are at the top of the hill on the left - a single storey building with a sign outside saying Veterinary Laboratories Agency.
North from Aberaeron - A487
- Follow the A487. Drop down into Rhydyfelin. Up the hill, round a bend by Southgate garage
- At the first roundabout turn right following the A4120 sign to Llanbadarn Fawr
- Down a steep hill to a large roundabout where you take third exit signed to Llangurig A44.
- Go over 2 railways lines then take the left hand turn just before you come to the traffic lights. Follow that road (A44 to Aberystwyth) for about 3/4 mile passing the ambulance station and Antony Motors (Mazda garage) on your left
- Through pedestrian lights, playing fields on the left.
- After a bend you will see a sign on the right for the hospital. Take the left turn opposite up the steep hill signed Buarth road.
West from Llangurig - A44
- Follow the main road until you enter the built-up outskirts of Aberystwyth.
- First traffic lights at Llanbadarn Fawr. Keep in the left hand lane by the garage and sub post office.
- Turn left but prepare to turn right almost immediately
- Right hand lane and turn right by the traffic island.
- Remaining directions as above

Trains from Shrewsbury every 2 hours, terminate at Aberystwyth
