VLA is committed to supply services through collaborations and partnerships with universities and scientific institutes in the UK and overseas. These relationships maximise outputs and increase the pool of professional knowledge and experience available to Government and public.
Some of our key networks include:

EPIZONE is an international network of 18 institutions working on animal diseases. Over 25 scientists at VLA are involved in the project.
The European Virus Archive project aims to create a European network of high calibre centres with the appropriate expertise to collect, characterise, authenticate, distribute and track mammalian and other exotic viruses.
Med-Vet-Net is an EU-funded network of excellence involving veterinary and medical scientists from all over Europe. VLA are involved in all the scientific activities of Med-Vet-Net and have taken a leading role in establishing this high-profile project.
InterAct is a unique partnership between VLA and three other leading UK Government research organisations. It offers the opportunity for companies, with interests in acquiring new technologies to collaborate with research scientists.
The Interlab Forum is a collaborative agreement between six Public Sector Research Establishments (PSREs) from across Government. Acting in the best interest of the public, the agreement promotes knowledge sharing across the PSREs. This includes emergency response and disease control.
