Animal & Veterinary Public Health Research Opportunities

VLA PhD programme 2009/12

VLA recently advertised VLA PhD programme opportunities in topical animal, veterinary and public health subjects.

Our PhD programme began in spring 2009 and we now have 21 PhD students.

The registered universities include:

  • Imperial College London
  • St George’s
  • Royal Holloway
  • Surrey
  • Bristol
  • Cardiff
  • Liverpool
  • Kingston
  • Nottingham

A further six studentships were established this year with funds from commerce, EU or specified projects.

VLA is a leading global player in the delivery of research and surveillance of national and international animal and veterinary public health significance. As part of a network of 16 laboratories, the research division is based near Weybridge, Surrey. The site has undergone a major multi-million pound redevelopment programme in recent years. It now houses an internationally recognised laboratory complex and animal accommodation including extensive containment level 3 and 4 specialist facilities.
