VLA's reference and surveillance functions for brucellosis are supported by an active research programme funded by Defra, through commercial collaboration, or through research grants obtained from other awarding bodies.

Our science programme strives to produce new and improved tools to tackle brucellosis as well as examining more fundamental aspects of the disease and its causative organisms.
