Working for public and animal health
Zoonoses are diseases and infections which are naturally transmitted between vertebrate animals and man. Monitoring the field occurrence of appropriate animal diseases highlights the potential for zoonotic transmission.
These reports summarise the surveillance activities of the VLA for non-statutory zoonoses and infections shared between man and animals in England and Wales.
The non-statutory zoonoses project is funded by Defra.
The reports primarily relate to surveillance of farmed animal species and are compiled using data gathered by the network of Regional Laboratories (RLs). Non-statutory zoonoses comprise the foodborne zoonoses (other than salmonella) and most of the miscellaneous environmental zoonoses.
The following reports are published as pdf documents.
