"Defra leads for the Government on promoting sustainable development and it is important that major developments across the Defra family are exemplars of good practice. VLA has met that challenge and the cutting edge environmental design of the building ensures that it is both energy and water efficient. Congratulations to VLA and everyone involved in planning and delivering the project."

Named after the two rivers that run close to the site, the Weybourne Building accommodates VLA's support services and its Centre for Epidemiology and Risk Research, as well as housing conference facilities, library and an e-café.
