All samples for biochemistry or haematology should be sent to the VLA CLINICAL CHEMISTRY UNIT at Kendal Road, Harlescott, Shrewsbury, SY1 4HD.

The blood biochemistry tests are charged according to the total number of tests required in a single submission, irrespective of the selection of tests or the number of animals sampled.

ANTICOAGULANTS REQUIRED

Citrate (light blue top) or EDTA (purple top) - Fibrinogen
Heparin (green top) - Cu, GSH-Px, metHb, Hb, PCV, lead and plasma inorganic iodine

OxF (grey top) - P and Glucose
Avoid rubber stoppers - Zinc
Remainder (red top) - No anticoagulant required
