Purchase of energy efficient dishwashers* to reduce energy consumed throughout the life cycle

*with at least 10 place settings (they account for more than 90% of EU sales of available machines)

2008 MINIMUM Mandatory Specification(s)

1.  Dishwashers must have an ‘A’ rated Energy Efficiency index of 0.64 or less (see page 1)
2.  ‘A’ rated Drying performance index of greater than 1.08 (see page 2)
3.  ‘A’ rated Cleaning performance index of greater than 1.12 (see page 2)

2008 BEST PRACTICE Specification(s)

1.  Same as minimum specification
2.  Water consumption of less than 0.625s+9.25 litres (where s is the number of place settings) - This follows EU eco label criteria (see page 3) and shows the number of litres of water consumed per cycle
3. Noise less than 60dBA
