- In June 1998 there were 621 rough sleepers in London and 1,850 in England overall.
- By June 2008, the number of rough sleepers had fallen to 238 in London and 483 in England overall.
- There were 64,000 householdsin temporary accommodation in England as at March 2009. This figureincreased from 41,250 in 1997, but has fallen from 101,070 in 2005. (This relates to households in temporary accommodation, as arranged by a local housing authority as a discharge of their statutory homelessness functions.)
