  • Between 1990 and 2007 emissions of air pollutants were reduced: ammonia (NH3) by 21 per cent, nitrogen oxides (NOx) by 46 per cent, particulates (PM10) by 52 per cent
    and sulphur dioxide (SO2) by 84 per cent.
  • During this period, the economy (Gross Domestic Product) grew by 54 per cent.
