  • GDP per capita for all 13 selected countries increased between 1990 and 2006. Of these the UK's increase in GDP of 127 per cent was the second largest. The smallest increase over this period was that of Japan, where GDP per capita increased by 42 per cent.
  • Gross domestic product per capita has also increased between 1999 and 2006 for all countries. The largest overall increase during this period was in Norway - an increase of 102 per cent . The UK's increase of 57 per cent was the 4th largest of the 13 selected countries.
  • In 2006 GDP per capita in the UK was $39,207 per person, the 6th highest of the 13 countries, and greater than GDP per capita for Western Europe which was $36, 635 per person (not shown).
