Sustainable policies and programmes
Better policies and programmes can be designed if the issue and the possible solutions are looked at through the sustainable development ‘lens’. This page will show you what that means and how to do it in practice. It covers the following:
- Five reasons why adopting a sustainable development approach can help produce better policies
- What a sustainable policy might look like.
- How to do it and using the Stretching the Web tool.
- The Adapting to Climate Change programme as a good example of a sustainable policy.
Our future will inevitably be different from now. Our environment is changing, so is our culture and so must our governance and economy in order to be resilient to those changes to enable us to prosper.
