  • 4th - REVIEW OF DEFRA FUNDED RESEARCH ON ARABLE CROP ZOOLOGY AND PEST MANAGEMENT - 23rd January 2004
    Defra, Ashdown House, 123 Victoria Street, London. SW1E 6DE
    A review of the Defra funded research programme on Arable Crop Zoology and Pest Management will be held at Ashdown House on the 23rd January 2004.
    The review will consider whether the current projects are meeting the overall policy and scientific objectives of the programme and will discuss future directions. A paper review booklet giving details of all projects being reviewed will be produced and project leaders will give a short presentation of their projects on the day.     The meeting will be open to the public. Anybody interested in attending should e-mail john.howley@defra.gsi.gov.uk detailing their name, organisation, and contact details.

  • 3rd- Organic LINK Research - As part of the Organic Action Plan announced on 29 July 2002, Government committed to set aside £5 million over 5 years for LINK research on organic farming. The Organic Action Plan Group decided that this resource would be best managed within the existing LINK programmes rather than by establishing a separate Organic LINK Programme. Further Details.

    16th and 17th June 2003 Warwick Conferences, University of Warwick
    An open meeting reviewing the Defra funded research programmes on Bioenergy and Renewable Industrial Materials will be held at Warwick Conference Centre on the 16th and 17th June 2003.

  • 15th - The Research Funding Paradox -
    A meeting hosted by the SCI will be held on the 13th May in London on the research funding paradox. The meeting aims to investigate the funding opportunities that are available to industry from the UK government or the EU either independently or in collaboration with commercial enterprises, universities, 'blue-sky' and applied research organisations.
