RSA93 Consultations and other related documents

Under the Radioactive Substances Act 1993 (RSA93), application may be made to the Environment Agency for England and Wales and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency for permission to dispose of radioactive waste from nuclear licensed sites, including the discharge of radioactivity to the environment. When considering these applications (and before deciding whether or not to grant an authorisation, subject to limits and conditions), the agencies seek the views of various parties, including relevant local authorities.

RWMAC is routinely included among these consultees. The Committee's written responses, made as part of these public consultations, are available for public scrutiny.
