Regional Rural Affairs Forum Chairs
As part of the Modernising Rural Delivery Review, Lord Haskins made several recommendations on the future of the national and regional forums of which formed a part of the Rural Strategy 2004. It announced a package of measures designed to build on and improve the Government's ability to engage with rural stakeholders. One of the key recommendations of the package was to build a strong relationship between Ministers and rural people through regular meetings with Regional Forum chairs.
These meetings take place on a quarterly basis, and summary notes of their proceedings are set out below:

As a result of these regular meetings, the chairs of the 8 Regional Forums have begun working more closely together and formed an informal group which exists to share information and experience and to represent collectively the views of rural people at a national level to Ministers and the Rural Advocate.
