Lord Haskins Biography

Lord HaskinsChristopher Haskins was born in 1937 in Dublin Ireland.

He was educated at Trinity College Dublin and took an Honours degree in Modern History.

He worked for Northern Foods from 1962 until 2002, becoming a director in 1967, Deputy Chairman in 1974 and Chairman in 1986 until he retired in February 2002.

He became a life peer, a member of the House of Lords, in 1998.

He has worked for both the British and the Irish governments on a number of projects. He was a member of the Culliton Irish Industrial Policy Review group in 1991, which produced the blueprint for the successful Irish economy of recent years.
