Rural Affairs Forum for England

  • The Rural Affairs Forum for Engand ran from January 2002 until its final meeting on 5 November 2004. It was established to implement the commitment given by Government in its Rural White Paper to establish a national sounding board, to give Ministers "regular and direct contact with the main rural groups so that they know what is going on and what countryside people think"
  • This commitment is now being taken forward by new arrangements for creating “a strong rural voice - listened to by Government” announced in the Rural Strategy 2004
