Bridleways, other rights of way and off-road access
Where to ride
You can find details - and maps
- for more than 1600 walks and areas of open access in England, in the
Conservation Walks
and Rides register. This website is updated regularly and enables searches to be
done for bridleways and other access routes in your area.
Recreation and Public Access
The Government want to improve access for equestrians by increasing the number of bridleways and improving the bridleway network. More information on all these initiatives can be found at http://www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-countryside/issues/index.htm
For more information about bridleways you can e-mail the Recreation and Access Team at recreation.access@defra.gsi.gov.uk
