Social capital and quality of life
Overall, rural areas experience more positive social capital outcomes when
compared to the national average.
Indicators:
- People from different backgrounds get on well together in the local area
- People have meaningful interactions with people from different backgrounds
- This variable is not included in the Citizenship Survey until 2007, results of which will be available in Autumn 2008.
- People feel that they belong to their neighbourhood
- People feel they can influence decisions in their locality
- Participation in regular formal volunteering at least once a month
