On some indicators of housing stress, rural areas are in line with or better than national trends, although housing affordability is lower as rurality increases.
Indicators:
- Waiting lists as a percentage of housing stock
- Homelessness and temporary accommodation
- Ratio of lower quartile house prices to lower quartile earnings
