Licences to kill or take badgers for the purpose of preventing the spread of bovine TB under section 10(2)(a) of the Protection of Badgers Act 1992
This guidance is given by the Secretary of State to Natural England under section 15(2) of the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006 (NERC), and represents the Secretary of State’s considered views, based on current scientific evidence, as to what is required in order for any cull of badgers to be effective, safe and humane.
