Sheep and goat holding register
Unique identifier: PB13281
To protect the health of your livestock and to make it easier to trace your animals, you must keep a register of the animals on your holding. This register holds information about your holding, tags and replacement tags, and all movements of sheep and goats. We have produced a printable and electronic (Microsoft Excel) versions of the register to assist keepers to record the required information. These are available below.
A separate holding register is required for each different holding. It must:
- Record movements of sheep born after 31 December 2009 individually, unless they are identified with a slaughter tag
- Record details of any replacement identifiers (section 2), including any cross-references where appropriate.
Hard copies are available from the Defra library on 020 7238 6575, quoting reference PB13281.
Electronic version
To access the electronic Holding Register below, you will need to enable Macros (via the ‘options’ button in the [security advice] bar above the register). This will allow you to accept the disclaimer. Please read the disclaimer as it contains important information on the use of the Holding Register.
