Plant Health Research and Development

The work of Plant Health Division is supported by a highly applied research programme which is primarily concerned with the development of techniques to prevent the introduction of new pests and diseases, to support the development of pest risk assessments and to develop eradication techniques for use when outbreaks do occur. Bee Health projects are also listed under Projects currently funded (left column) as these are now the responsibility of Plant Health.
An outline of the policy problems to be addressed by the plant health research programme, including the key policy and science objectives, can be found here: Plant Health Research ROAME Statement (Rationale, Objectives, Appraisal, Monitoring, Evaluation) 2004-2010 pdf
