- Protocols and procedures for tests and trials: the VCU protocols and procedures for Test and Trial Design and Data Validation and Test and Trial Inspection and Data Handling have been produced.
- April edition of Plant Varieties and Seeds Gazette and the first 2008 Special Edition have been published. Due to ongoing reviews of information relating to the Vegetable 'B' List varieties, the Special Edition has provisionally been produced without 'Section B United Kingdom National List of Varieties of Vegetable Plant Species'. A complete edition including the updated 'B' list will be published shortly
- UK Seed Certification – Guides and Registers: The Registers of Registered Companies and Licensed Seed Testing Stations have been up dated. The Tetrazolium testing for certification in England – procedures have also been revised.
- The UK response to the Food Chain Evaluation Consortium (FCEC) qualitative questionnaire used by the FCEC to evaluate the Community acquis on the marketing of Seed and Plant Propagating Materials (S&PM).

- Application Forms and Technical Questionnaires for National Listing and Plant Breeders’ Rights: new TQs, which may also be completed interactively, have been produced for Chrysanthemums, Ornamental species and Vegetables. The Application Forms for National Listing and Plant Breeders’ Rights and the TQs for Wheat, Barley and Rape have been revised.

- UK Seed Certification – New contact number for Seed Certification enquiries: NIAB on 01223 342220 and clarification that application forms and fees should be sent to NIAB, Huntingdon Road, Cambridge CB3 OLE.
- Protocols and procedures for tests and trials: the VCU procedures for Cereals, Spring Oilseed Rape and Winter Oilseed Rape have been revised with amendments to Plant Growth Regulators, Fungicide Programme and Control Varieties.
5 February 2008 - NL/PBR Information Letter: NL/PBR 1/08 (PDF 19KB) gives details of the Consultation on proposed fee changes for National Listing and Plant Breeders’ Rights Services, changes to DUS testing arrangements (replacement of cereal ear rows with plots )and revised VCU procedures.

It will be in force from 14 January 2008 to 30 April 2008. - Protocols and procedures for tests and trials: the VCU procedures for Perennial, Italian, Hybrid Ryegrass, Timothy & Festulolium, Red Clover & Lucerne, White Clover and Spring Oilseed Rape for 2008 harvest have been produced.

- Technical Questionnaires for National Listing and Plant Breeders Rights: new forms, which may also be completed interactively, have been produced for Oats, Rose, Soya Bean, Linseed Sunflower and Turnip Rape.
- Seed Certification - manually completed applications: the completed forms should be sent to NIAB, Huntingdon Road, Cambridge CB3 OLE accompanied by a cheque, covering the required fee, made payable to 'NIAB/Cert Fee Client A/C'. Please note the address details on the forms have not yet been updated to read 'NIAB'.
