POTATO BROWN ROT: 2005 WATERCOURSE MONITORING PROGRAMME  26 Oct 05

POTATO BROWN ROT: 2005 WATERCOURSE MONITORING PROGRAMME

The June phase of the 2005 monitoring programme has been completed. The results are available here (pdf).

The work focused on three main areas: (a) those watercourses included in the treatment programme; (b) watercourses associated with the River Trent and Trent & Mersey Canal; (c) watercourses associated with the Skell and Old Ea Beck in South Yorkshire. The only positive findings in this first phase were on Pig Water and the River Maun.

No decisions will be made about possible designations or de-designations of watercourses until the 2005 programme has been completed. The September phase of monitoring may bring further developments, but please contact your local PHSI in the meantime if you have any questions about the June results.            17 Aug 05
