Science Advisory Council: open meeting
The Science Advisory Council, the key independent body advising Defra scientists and ministers, is holding an open meeting and anyone interested can come along.
The meeting will be a great opportunity to see how the Council works, and for people find out more about the big scientific challenges Defra is facing.
The meeting will focus on Defra’s evidence programme, current animal health issues, and the Council’s role in continuing to provide the best possible independent strategic science advice to Defra.
The Government’s Chief Scientific Advisor, John Beddington will discuss the ‘Key Science Challenges across Government’.

The meeting will be held from 9:30am – 4pm on Tuesday, 28 October 2008 at Central Hall Westminster.
