Flooding in southern and western coastal areas
Severe gale force winds combined with large waves and high spring tides across southern and western parts of the British Isles, mean that it is important for people to stay away from exposed coastal areas.
People are being urged to prepare for severe weather, which will increase the risk of flooding to Wales, the south west and southern England.
The Government is monitoring the situation and the Secretary of State is being regularly updated by information from the Environment Agency and local responders. We are grateful to all emergency services, local authorities and the Environment Agency for preparedness.
People are urged to be aware, listen to local advice from emergency services and local councils.
