Zoos Forum appointments

Four new members have been appointed to the Zoos Forum, the Government’s independent advisory body on zoo matters.
Ros Clubb, Amanda Ewington, Timothy Nevard and Jake Veasey’s appointments run from 1 June 2009 to 31 March 2012.

Notes to editors
1. Zoos Forum members are appointed by Ministers, in line with the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointment’s guidance on public appointments. All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process.
2. Biographical details:
Dr Ros Clubb is a Scientific Officer in the Wildlife Department at the RSPCA. Dr Clubb previously conducted a review on the welfare of European zoo elephants and advised on animal welfare on the UK elephant Taxon Advisory Group.
Amanda Ewington is a Licensing Officer with Vale of Glamorgan Council and a Member of the Institute of Licensing.
Timothy Nevard is Director of the Pensthorpe Conservation Trust, and was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for service to nature conservation in 2003.
Dr Jake Veasey is Head of the Department of Animal Management and Conservation at Woburn Safari Park. He sits on advisory groups and committees including the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Conservation and Animal Management Committee.
