Contaminated Marine Sediments: Lead Task Organisations
Four UK organisations are participating in this programme. Partrac Ltd, a specialist marine consultancy based in Glasgow, have been appointed within a competitive tender framework to act as the programme Co-ordinators. Partrac are responsible for the day-to-day administration of the programme and were commissioned by Defra to provide momentum to the project and to underpin project integration within and amongst the various organisations and tasks.
The Marine Environmental Research division of Associated British Ports (ABPMer) is running Tasks 1 to 4. ABPMer is a leading UK marine environmental consultancy creating sustainable solutions for the marine environment. They have an excellent track record in managing and contributing to integrated environmental studies across a wide range of industries. They undertake focused and strategic research for Government and its Agencies.
Entec UK is a consultancy with expertise is in the area of engineering, environment and safety. Based in Newcastle Entec are undertaking work within Task 5. The National Oceanography Centre in Southampton are undertaking work within Task 6. The centre is the country’s academic focus for oceanographic research. Scientists with specific expertise in research and development with regard to contaminated sediments will review the current state of research and look towards the future to identify future needs.
