GVS Working Groups: GVS University Veterinary Schools Liaison Group

The GVS Veterinary Schools Liason Group was convened in 2006, and provides a forum for the GVS, UK veterinary schools and the RCVS to establish a strong joint approach to key areas such as undergraduate teaching in veterinary public health and access to extra-mural studies across government.

Megan Power from the Defra’s Veterinary Services Team chairs the group with delegates from the UK Veterinary Schools and Government Veterinary Surgeons contributing to the discussions.

"By creating a more formal network across the GVS with the schools and the RCVS, we can tap into the enthusiasm, experience and expertise in academia and we hope the schools will benefit by gaining more direct access to veterinary expertise in government.” - Megan Power
