Developing your career

Learning and Development is a vital ingredient to the success of the GVS. It provides an opportunity for the Veterinary Head of Profession to have an oversight of and contribute to key developmental issues across the GVS.

The learning and development process states that for learning to be effective it should follow these stages:

  • identify a need
  • set objectives
  • undertaking a solution (e.g. course)
  • evaluate it properly

The GVS Learning and Development Working Group leads on the development of GVS Learning and Development Expertise Framework, which will include support for the development of GVS relevant work-based modules within the RCVS Modular Certificate in Advance Veterinary Practice.

The following presentation provides further information on Professional Development Phase (PDP) and the RCVS Modular Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (PDF 638 KB) is now available.
