About GVSWhat is the GVS?
Nigel qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1981 and spent most of his career involved in animal health and welfare with lead roles on international trade and exotic diseases. He is also Chair of the GVS Steering group which is made up of senior veterinary managers from across government departments. The Government Veterinary Surgeons (GVS) is the network of government vets working across all government departments and agencies, which employ veterinary surgeons including the devolved administrations in Britain. Nigel Gibbens is supported in this role by a GVS Secretariat. See also
