Dairy Supply Chain Forum Taskforces

The structure of the Dairy Supply Chain Forum was altered in 2006 - replacing the sub-groups with the following taskforces. The taskforces meet regularly, and report back to the main forum at its plenary session:

Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) Taskforce

The Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) Taskforce is chaired by Dairy UK and draws membership from all parts of the supply chain (going beyond the farming, processing and retailing sectors) to include inputs to farming and consumers. For a list of members of the Dairy Supply Chain Forum and its Taskforces please contact the Forum Secretariat on 020 7238 3110 or at dairy.forum@defra.gsi.gov.uk

Milk roadmap 2008Milk Roadmap

As part of the Food Chain Programme, the Defra and the SCP Taskforce have developed a ‘roadmap’ for liquid milk. Roadmaps use life cycle analysis to complete a 'cradle to grave' picture of the environmental impacts for a product and highlight areas where efforts can effectively be concentrated to reduce those impacts.

The Milk Roadmap (published May 2008) is a living document which will be revisited to ensure that the targets and evidence remains relevant – in the first instance, at a plenary session of the Sustainable Consumption and Production Taskforce in autumn 2008.

CAP Reform Taskforce

A CAP Reform taskforce has been set up to examine the implications of the proposals in the Commission's Healthcheck.
