Milk and Milk Products Management committee
The European Commission has considerable discretion to set detailed rules for the operation of the Common Market Organisation. However, in most circumstances the Commission is required to consult the Management Committee for Milk and Milk Products in exercising these powers.
The Management Committee is chaired by the Commission and consists of representatives from each of the EU Member States.
Meetings take place regularly and can involve both standard agenda items (such as decisions on tenders), and more fundamental changes to the market management mechanisms which are used (such as the consolidation or amendment of Commission Regulations).
