EU Protected Food Names Scheme - inspection bodies

Examples of Inspection Bodies used by producers of registered products

Whilst any inspection body can carry out the inspections required private bodies must be accredited with European Standard EN45011 or ISO/IEC guide 65. Public bodies must demonstrate that they are complying with the standards required before they can be approved to carry out inspections under the scheme.

Trading Standards may also carry out inspections required under the EU Protected Food Names Scheme: www.tradingstandards.gov.uk
