DACTARI: Information for pet owners
If
you wish to know more about exotic diseases that may infect your dog or
cat during its time abroad, please consult your veterinarian before you
travel. You should also discuss the potential risks, and ways of reducing
these, with your veterinarian.
If, however, your animal comes back from its holidays sick, or develops
an unusual illness, contact your vet immediately to get your animal appropriate veterinary
attention. Please take the opportunity to remind him or her about DACTARI,
and he/she will then be able to pass on to us information about the disease
your animal has if it is relevant to the scheme, by filling in a report
form and sending it to Defra. This may be an exotic disease, and your information
will help us to establish the level of risk related to these diseases in
Great Britain.
All information supplied will be used anonymously.

form - This form is for information only.
If you have a query about the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS), please see the PETS website, or contact the PETS Helpline.
