Yorkshire Dairy and Beef Farm Health Planning Group
The Yorkshire FHP group project will demonstrate the practical side of FHP across Yorkshire, addressing the issues that matter most to Yorkshire’s dairy and beef suckler farmers and their cows.
A ‘focus farm network’ of 8 farms across Yorkshire has been established. The progress of these farms will be monitored as they take a FHP approach with their local vet concentrating on those aspects of cow health and productivity that are most relevant to the bottom line of their businesses.
A series of meetings and ‘on farm events’ will be held throughout the course of the project in each region, giving local dairy and beef producers and their advisers the chance to get together to share ideas and learn from the successes and failures of the ‘focus farms’ in a social environment.
